There are a number of support services available in the community to help you with whatever you need.

Mental Health Crisis Support

  • Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to crisis support and suicide prevention services. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 13 11 14, sending an SMS to 0477 13 11 14 or using their live chat service.   • Kids Helpline is a free, confidential 24/7 online and phone counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.
    Qualified counsellors at Kids Helpline are available anytime and for any reason by calling 1800 55 1800 or by using their web chat service. More information can be found on the Kids Helpline website(Opens in a new tab/window).
  • Beyond Blue is an organisation for those who are seeking trusted mental health information or qualified support by phone or web chat. Housing

  • Vinnies provide a number of different services across the City of Melton. The service is available from 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday by calling 1800 305 330 or by visiting the Vinnies website.(Opens in a new tab/window)
  • Uniting now offers a Tenancy Advice and Advocacy program in partnership with CCCM. This program is available by calling Uniting on 03 9311 5900 for an appointment or by visiting the Uniting website.(Opens in a new tab/window)
  • Hope Street Youth and Family Services support young people (aged 16 to 25 years old) and young families who are experiencing homelessness. In the City of Melton, Hope Street has a number of programs active, including the First Response Youth Mobile Outreach Service (available 7 days per week including after hours), the First Response Youth Refuge (providing crisis accommodation) and Hope Street in Melton, a foyer-like model of supported transitional housing units. Family Violence Support

  • Respect Victoria is the dedicated organisation for the prevention of family violence and violence against women in Victoria. They do this by leading and supporting evidence-informed primary prevention across Victoria and encourage transformational social change. They have created a list of crisis and support organisations that can provide support or advice regarding domestic and family violence, which you can access by visiting the Respect Victoria website(Opens in a new tab/window).
  • Safe Steps is available to support people in Victoria who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing family violence. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, please call 1800 015 188 or try their live web chat service available 9am-9pm, Monday - Friday.   • The Orange Door provides help for people experiencing family violence, or who need assistance with the care and wellbeing of children and young people. To find a service near you, visit the Orange Door website(Opens in a new tab/window).
  • 1800 Respect is a national hotline operated by trained counsellors. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to support people impacted by family violence, please call 1800 737 732. More information can be found on the 1800 Respect website.(Opens in a new tab/window)
  • Sexual Assault Crisis Line is a state-wide, after-hours, confidential, telephone crisis counselling service for people who have experienced sexual assault, operated by the Royal Women's Hospital Melbourne. It operates between 5pm weeknights through to 9am the next day and throughout weekends and public holidays. You can call the crisis line on 1800 806 292. Local Council and Health Services

  • Melton City Council is the local council authority where CCCM provides assistance. They can assist with finding local support services who provide assistance in many different areas, including family violence, homelessness, pregnancy along with providing some local health services like immunisation or Maternal and Child Health nursing.   • Western Health - Bacchus Marsh, Melton & Caroline Springs runs the Bacchus Marsh Hospital, Melton Health and Community Services Hub along with the Caroline Springs Community Health Centre. Drug and Alcohol Assistance

  • Alcohol and Drug Foundation is the national charity working to reduce harm from alcohol and drugs in Australia. They offer educational information, drug and alcohol prevention programs and advocate for healthy communities free of harm from drugs and alcohol. You can call the National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline on 1800 250 015 for drug and alcohol counselling or call the DrugInfo line on 1300 85 85 84 for help finding local support services, advice on supporting loved ones or facts on alcohol and other drugs.   • DirectLine provide a 24-hour telephone and online counselling, information and referral service for anyone in Victoria wishing to discuss an alcohol or drug-related issue. Gambling Support

  • Gambler's Help is the Victorian support service for help with gambling harm providing counselling, peer support, community education and integrates with the wider health system to provide the best response to gambling harm. You can call 1800 858 858 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for free and confidential professional support, whether you need help with your own gambling or advice about helping someone else.   • Gambler's Help Youthline provides support for people under 25 who are worried about their own or someone else’s gambling. Call 1800 262 376 for advice and support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's anonymous, confidential and free.

Going to court - legal assistance

  • 'Looking for legal help?' is a resource provided by the Law Institute Victoria to help the Victorian public access the right people, services and support to help with legal issues. Read more on the Law Institute Victoria's website(Opens in a new tab/window).
  • Victoria Legal Aid provide legal representation, family dispute resolution and non-legal advocacy to those who need it most across Victoria.   • Court Network provides support people accessing and navigating court systems by empowering them and increasing the confidence of court users in managing the requirements of the courts.  You can call them on 1800 571 239 or if you're at court, you can ask a security guard or the front desk to speak with someone from the Court Network.
